Step On a Crack – I am a proud Mother, a Reader, a Poet, A Seeker. I have worked as a community organizer for most of my adult life. I continue to be fascinated and horrified by politics and am most concerned with poverty and human rights in the United States. I was the primary caregiver in my family for my mother who was a life long alcoholic and a physically abusive mother. My mother died a chronic alcoholic. She lived the last years of her life in a haze of alcoholics dementia; Wernicke Korsakoff. I will return to the streets once my son has flown the nest. I will NOT follow in my mothers footsteps.
